My name is Michael. I grew up between the UK and South East Asia. I studied Theology at Nottingham University and then at London School of Theology. I’ve been teaching theology, preaching, and discipling others in church and para-church settings for a number of years and am passionate for the fruit of academic theology to be something that shapes the faith and lives of ‘ordinary’ believers.
This blog is a space for me to practice writing and hopefully say some things that are true and useful for others. I’m particularly interested in writing about the interface of reformed theology and charismatic spirituality, though that potentially encompasses a great deal!
There go the ships
The name of this blog comes from Psalm 104:26. This Psalm is modelled around the days of creation in Genesis 1, highlighting the work of God the Creator as a providential and sustaining work that continues on beyond the initial moment of creation into every area of his world. In verse 26 ships are placed alongside the great creatures of the deep as both subjects of God’s sovereign ordering of creation.
